President Serzh Sargsyan receives congratulatory messages on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of Armenia's independence

On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia, President Serzh Sargsyan receives congratulatory messages from the heads of foreign States, international organizations, State and public figures, representatives of the clergy, individuals.

A congratulatory message has been sent by His Holiness Pope Francis on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of Armenia’s independence.

“Your Excellency, the national holiday of the Republic of Armenia gives me a chance to convey to you and your compatriots my heartfelt wishes of peace and prosperity. May God accompany and support your efforts to build a constantly consolidated and united society, inspiring hope for the younger generations. With this wish, I pray with the whole heart for the Divine blessing of Your Excellency, the leaders of the country and the entire Armenian nation,” the message of the Holy Pontiff of Rome reads.

President Serzh Sargsyan received a congratulatory message from President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the national holiday. The message runs as follows:

“Dear Serzh Azatovich,

I cordially congratulate you on the national holiday of the Republic of Armenia - Independence Day.

This year our countries are marking two significant jubilees, the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and the 20th anniversary of signing the Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance Treaty.

Over the past few decades, we were able to advance the whole complex of bilateral relations. Effective cooperation is underway in the frame of the Eurasian Economic Union, CSTO and CIS.

I am confident that through joint effort we will further strengthen the bonds of allied partnership between Russia and Armenia. It goes in tune with the fundamental interests of the fraternal peoples of our countries, along the path of stability and security in the South Caucasian region.

Dear Serzh Azatovich, I sincerely wish you robust health, happiness and every success, as well as peace and prosperity – to all your compatriots.”

In connection with Armenia’s Independence Day, President of the United States of America Donald Trump sent a congratulatory message to President Serzh Sargsyan.

“Dear Mr. President,

On behalf of the government and people of the United Stated, I would like to congratulate you and the people of Armenia on the 26th anniversary of your national independence on September 21.

This year, we also celebrate the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two countries. Since your independence, we have worked together to support Armenia’s democracy and economy in support of our shared interests. We are committed to continuing our support to Armenia as it implements new constitution and transition to a parliamentary system.

We look forward to expanding trade and investment ties that will benefit both our countries. We also commend Armenia’s contribution to international peacekeeping operations and participation in NATO and other multinational exercises, including the US-led Noble Partner exercise this past summer. We appreciate Armenia’s support for Syrian refugees.

Once again, I congratulate you and all Armenians on the progress you have made on democracy, security, and regional stability. Best wishes on this special day and for the year to come,” U.S. President Donald Trump said in his congratulatory letter.

President Serzh Sargsyan received a congratulatory message from French Republic President Emmanuel Macron.

“Mr. President,

I sincerely congratulate you and the entire Armenian nation on the National Holiday of the Republic of Armenia, and offer my best wishes for happiness and progress.

Armenia marks the 26th anniversary of its independence, and I realize the path, often full of hardships, that the Armenian people has traversed on their way to building a stable, democratic and prosperous State. I wish you could follow up your achievements in the coming years.

I would like to assure you that France will always be with Armenia to help address key challenges ahead. In this regard, I am especially delighted to see the upcoming signing of a framework agreement between Armenia and the European Union, which France used to appeal for.

Let me finally reaffirm my commitment that France fully assumes its mission as an OSCE Minsk Group co-chair to find a lasting and negotiated solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Please accept, Mr. President, the assurances of my deep respect,” the President of the French Republic said in his congratulatory message.

President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China sent a congratulatory message to President Serzh Sargsyan on the occasion of Independence Day.

On the Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia, on behalf of the Government and the people of the People’s Republic of China and on my own behalf, I extend to the friendly people Armenia in your person I cordially congratulate you and the friendly people of the Republic of Armenia with heartfelt congratulations and best wishes.

“It gives me great pleasure to send Your Excellency my congratulations on the celebration of your National Day, together with my best wishes for the happiness of the people of Armenia in the coming year,” Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland said in her congratulatory message.

“On September 21, the Republic of Armenia celebrates the anniversary of the proclamation of independence. On this special day, I convey warmest wishes to you and your fellow countrymen on behalf of my compatriots and myself.

This year is special for the Armenian-German relations: 25 years ago, our two countries established diplomatic relations. Since that time, a close cooperation based on mutual trust has been developing, which we can further deepen.

Germany welcomes the completion of the talks on a new comprehensive partnership agreement between Armenia and the European Union and will continue to back Armenia on the way to integration into the Euro-Atlantic community.

President of Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan sent a congratulatory message to President Serzh Sargsyan on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia.

On behalf of the Artsakh Republic people, the authorities and myself personally I extend heartfelt congratulations to You on the 26th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia.
