President receives European Statisticians Conference Bureau members

President Serzh Sargsyan received today the European Statisticians Conference Bureau members, headed by Bureau President Mario Bruun.

Welcoming the guests, the President of Armenia said to be pleased with the fact that the regular session of the European Statisticians Conference Bureau was being held in Yerevan and stressed the importance of statistical services’ activities. Hailing the efforts made by the Bureau to develop the official statistics in the economic zone in Europe and throughout the world, Serzh Sargsyan wished the session successful work.

According to President Sargsyan, the statistical analysis provided by statisticians is largely dependent on the progress of every society, economy, and even individual organizations, given that this work helps assess the current developments, as well as the challenges facing mankind.

The meeting attached importance to the active involvement of Armenia’s National Statistical Service in international cooperation, thanks to which the ANSS will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the international best practices, uniform, scientific and independent statistical methodologies and systems.

As they briefed President Sargsyan on the activities of the European Statisticians Conference Bureau, the guests highlighted the importance of issues included in the agenda of the Yerevan session.
