President holds farewell meeting with outgoing Romania Ambassador

President Serzh Sargsyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Armenia Sorin Vasile who is completing his diplomatic mission in our country. Thanking the Ambassador for his tenure-long efforts aimed at strengthening the Armenian-Romanian relations, the President of Armenia wished him every success in his future activities.

Serzh Sargsyan stressed that Armenia has always prioritized the deepening of relationship and cooperation with Romania based on centuries-old friendship between the two peoples. The President noted with satisfaction that the overall level of mutual understanding on political issues has been upgraded considerably in recent years, which is the key to the furtherance of bilateral relations.

President Sargsyan thanked the Romanian people and authorities for their caring attitude toward the Romanian-Armenian community and the Armenian historical and cultural heritage in Romania.

Ambassador Vasile said it was a great honor for him to serve in Armenia, noting that he had acquired many friends, more experience and knowledge about Armenia’s history and the Armenian nation. The Romanian Ambassador said he was leaving our country with good impressions and went on to assure that he would remain forever a friend of the Armenian people and Armenia.
