Newly appointed Lebanese ambassador hands credentials to President of Armenia

Newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lebanese Republic to the Republic of Armenia Maya Dagher presented her credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

Congratulating the Ambassador on appointment, Serzh Sargsyan expressed confidence that she would do her utmost to develop and strengthen relationship between the two countries. President Sargsyan noted with satisfaction that the deeply rooted ties of friendship between Armenia and Lebanon are deepening and strengthening year after year.

As the President said, during the 25 years of diplomatic relations, the two countries managed to build relations characterized by high-level political dialogue, mutual trust, and close cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. Serzh Sargsyan expressed gratitude to friendly Lebanon’s authorities and people for their for decades-long warm attitude toward the Armenian community of Lebanon, which allowed the latter to not only preserve their identity, but also to develop and actively participate in the social and economic life of the country.

Ambassador Maya Dagher thanked the President for the reception and congratulations. She agreed with the President of Armenia that while the interstate relations have only a 25-year-long history, they are very strong based on the friendship between the two peoples. The Ambassador appreciated the role of the Armenian community of Lebanon, which actively participates in the development of the country.

The interlocutors noted with satisfaction that Armenia and Lebanon are cooperating effectively within the framework of international organizations. The Armenian President and the Lebanese Ambassador underscored the growing interest of Lebanese businessmen in Armenia’s economy, stressing the need to encourage investments and intensify contacts between entrepreneurs. The parties also touched upon the global problems and challenges.
