President receives RF Foreign Intelligence Service Director

President Serzh Sargsyan received RF Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergey Narishkin who has arrived in Armenia on a working visit.

Welcoming the guest, the President of Armenia highlighted the ongoing close cooperation between the two strategic partners’ special services and underscored that new opportunities and challenges are emerging in today’s fast-evolving world. The Head of the Armenian State made a point of exchanging information, analyzing the situation, strengthening the active interactions between special services in order to counteract the threats promptly and more effectively.

Serzh Sargsyan stated with satisfaction that the dynamically developing Armenian-Russian allied relations are marked by proactive cooperation in political, economic, military and military-technical, humanitarian spheres, as well as in the framework of international organizations and foreign policy. President Sargsyan expressed the hope that Sergey Naryshkin’s visit would add momentum to the furtherance of cooperation with the Armenian colleagues.

Thankful for the reception, the RF Foreign Intelligence Service Director stressed that the Armenian-Russian allied relations suppose close ties and partnerships at all levels, including the special services. Sergey Naryshkin reaffirmed that the cooperation between Armenia’s and Russia’s security services is at a proper level. He availed himself of the opportunity to outline the specific areas of cooperation and the future plans.
