Newly appointed Albanian Ambassador hands credentials

Today, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Republic of Armenia Ardiana Hobdari (residence in Athens) presented her credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

Congratulating Ambassador Hobdari on appointment, the President of Armenia wished her every success in her diplomatic mission and expressed the hope that the Ambassador’s activities would add momentum to bilateral relations.

The President stressed that the potential of cooperation is still used insufficiently, especially considering that Armenia and Albania have entered the quarter-century of diplomatic relations. The President of Armenia highlighted the importance of reciprocated high-level visits in the development of bilateral relations. Noting that he had invited the President of Albania to attend the Francophonie Summit to be held in Yerevan this autumn, Serzh Sargsyan emphasized that Armenia would be glad to host him. President Sargsyan made a point of enhancing the regulatory framework between the two countries, boosting inter-parliamentary relations, developing economic exchanges and strengthening cooperation within the international organizations.

The newly appointed Albanian Ambassador thanked President Sargsyan for the reception and noted that she shared the President’s opinion about the intensification of bilateral relations, especially considering that this year ushers in the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Ambassador Hobdari assured that her efforts would be aimed at promoting cooperation in cultural, economic, humanitarian and other fields. Stressing that EU membership is among Albania’s foreign policy priorities; the Ambassador welcomed the recent progress in EU-Armenia cooperation and wished our country ever new achievements on this way.

Ardiana Hobdari took the opportunity to praise Albania’s small but well-organized Armenian community which, as she said, could play an important role in the development of bilateral relations.
