President Serzh Sargsyan sent a letter of condolences on the demise of Arax Davtian.
The letter states:
“I was deeply saddened to learn the news of the demise of Arax Davtian - a renowned vocalist, great opera singer, and People’s Artist.
The inspired lyric soprano of Arax Davtian won the opera stages all over the world. Demanding devotees of the art of singing were anticipating her original interpretations of the classical music on the opera stages in America, Asia and Europe. Arax Davtian’s talent shined not only on the opera stages and concert hall but also in the movies and in her pedagogical work.
In these times of sorrow, I express my condolences to the family, colleagues, and admirers of her art.”
