President Serzh Sargsyan continues to receive congratulations on his re-election

 

Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel sent a congratulatory letter to President Serzh Sargsyan on his re-election:

“Distinguished Mr. President,

I cordially congratulate You on Your re-election as President of the Republic of Armenia.

The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany will continue to bring its contribution to the deepening of good relations between Germany and Armenia and will support a closer cooperation between Armenia and entire South Caucasus with the European Union.

I am confident that bold steps will allow to improve Armenia’s relations with its neighboring countries on the east as well as on the west.

I wish you happiness and success during Your tenure in office,” Chancellor Angela Merkel noted in her congratulatory message.

Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland also sent his congratulations to President Serzh Sargsyan.

“I am confident that you will pursue the on-going process of reforms to which you and your country are already committed, with a view to securing its democratic stability and to ensuring full respect for the Rule of Law and for Human Rights in Armenia.

I can assure you that the Council of Europe is ready to support you in these endeavours, in particular through continued implementation of the 2012-2014 Action Plan. I look forward to our future co-operation and to Armenia’s forthcoming chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers”, the letter of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe reads.

Serzh Sargsyan received congratulations from the Secretary General of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen, who expressed readiness to continue to work with President Serzh Sargsyan on the development of the NATO-Armenia partnership:

“We have taken note of the preliminary findings of the Observer Mission, which stated that the election was well-administered and characterized by a respect for fundamental freedoms. We welcome the progress made by Armenia since the last elections and trust further steps will be undertaken to address the remaining deficiencies,” the NATO statement says on the presidential elections in Armenia.

Director-General of UNESCO Irina Bokova also sent congratulations to President Serzh Sargsyan.

“Your Excellency,

On behalf of the UNESCO and in my own name I would like to congratulate you on your re-election as President of the Republic of Armenia, and to offer you my best wishes for continued success in meeting the challenges of this high office.

I am confident that the solid ties of cooperation that exist between Armenia and UNESCO within the Organization’s fields of competence will be enhanced further with your continued support. You may rest assured that I for my part will spare no effort to that end,” reads the message of the Director-General of UNESCO.

Serzh Sargsyan received a congratulatory message on his re-election also from the President of Turkey Abdullah Gül.
