President Serzh Sargsyan’s congratulatory message on the 15th Anniversary of the National Commission on Television and Radio

Dear members of the staff of the National Commission on Television and Radio.
I cordially congratulate you on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the creation of the National Commission on Television and Radio.

Telecommunications media, as one of the most efficient means of broadcasting and receiving information, has acquired an exceptional role in the contemporary world. To ensure the diversity of independent and autonomous media in the area of telecommunications and freedom of mass media, it is necessary to provide for an adequate and balanced regulation of the legal relations in the field, and at the same time to uphold the equilibrium between the rights and legitimate interests of other entities secured by the law.

Success of the National Commission on Television and Radio with this regard is evident, as well as achievements and progress the Commission has made in international settings, especially in the framework of European platform on the regulation of the Television and Radio broadcasting area.

However given the rapid development of modern technologies and global information society, requirements set for the National Commission on Television and Radio are growing, and there is still much to be done.

I congratulate you once again on this jubilee and wish you new success in your responsible job, excellent health, happiness to you and your families.
