President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan sent a congratulatory message to the Assyrian community of Armenia on the occasion of the New Year-Kha b’Nissan.

The message says:

"The friendship of the Armenian and Assyrian peoples has deep historical roots. Over the millennia, the relations between our peoples have been characterized by neighborliness and mutual respect.

While living in Armenia, Assyrians have preserved their national identity, unique traditions and spiritual values.

The Assyrian community, which is an integral part of our society, has always enjoyed the friendly attitude of the authorities and the people, equally sharing the difficulties faced by the country.

May this holiday, symbolizing the awakening of nature, be marked by lasting peace and new achievements for the Assyrians."
