President Serzh Sargsyan meets with Prince Charles of United Kingdom

 

President Serzh Sargsyan met with Prince Charles of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, who is in Armenia at the invitation of “Yerevan, my love” charity fund.

Serzh Sargsyan welcomed the Prince to Armenia, where, according to the President, he may get to know our country, its people, as well as Armenia’s cultural and historical heritage. Stressing that the Armenian-British relations have a long history, and the Armenian people is sympathetic to the British people and the royal family, the President of Armenia asked His Royal Highness to convey warm greetings and good wishes to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second. Serzh Sargsyan said to have kept warm memories of his London meetings with Her Majesty and the Prince in 2010. “Special is our people’s attitude to you owing to the fact that you carry on large-scale charitable activities. A vivid illustration of this is your active contribution to “Yerevan, my love” program,” President Serzh Sargsyan told Prince Charles.

The President expressed gratitude to Armen Sargsyan, the founder of “Yerevan, my love” project, for his initiative and the preparation of the Armenia visit of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales.

Thanking the President for a warm welcome and Armen Sargsyan - for invitation, Prince Charles emphasized the importance of “Yerevan, my love” program and the International School Project of Dilijan. The Prince said to have served as President of the United World Colleges Consortium for about 14 years. Witnessing his appreciation of the Armenian authorities’ thoughtfulness of education and youth affairs, he expressed willingness to get young Armenian entrepreneurs involved in his business support program.

The meeting agenda also featured the British-Armenian high-level political dialog, the furthering of bilateral relationship and cooperation.
