President Serzh Sargsyan is due to pay visit to Italy and Vatican City



This evening President Serzh Sargsyan is to pay an official visit to the Italian Republic and will hold meetings with the country’s top officials.

As part of the visit, President Serzh Sargsyan is to visit the Vittoriano Museum Complex on April 10, where he will watch an exhibition titled “Armenia: People of Ark” devoted to the Armenian Genocide Centennial. On April 11, the Armenian President will attend an ecclesiastical ceremony at Saint Gregory the Illuminator Church in Naples, to be performed by His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, and Cardinal Sepe, and the opening and consecration ceremony of a memorial to the Armenian Genocide – a duplicate of one of Jugha cross-stones. In Italy, President Serzh Sargsyan is also to meet with the director-general of one of international organizations – the UN Food and Agriculture Organization.

On April 12, the Armenian President will visit Vatican City where he will take part in a liturgy devoted to the Armenian Genocide Centennial to be performed by His Holiness Pope Francis at Saint Peter’s Basilica
