President receives delegation of participators in 4th International Medical Congress of Armenia

President Serzh Sargsyan received today the delegation of participators in the 4th International Medical Congress of Armenia being held in Yerevan from 1 to 4 July.

Welcoming the meeting participants, Armenia’s president expressed confidence that the 4th congress will be as effective as its predecessors and will outline new prospects for multidimensional medical cooperation. Expressing satisfaction with the fact that over the years, the congress has been engaging new participants from all over the world, Serzh Sargsyan said it is inspiring that today our successful diaspora compatriots have decided to use their experience and knowledge to promote healthcare in the homeland. The Armenian president attached importance to the continuity of the congress, which, according to him, gives Armenian doctors the opportunity to work side by side and introduce Armenia to the best and progressive experience in the given sphere, stimulate medicine and qualified medical education, thus contributing to health protection in Armenia and Artsakh and helping to improve the quality of medical services.

The meeting participants presented to the president the results of their joint discussions, the agreements to develop collaboration, as well as their approaches and proposals concerning the current issues in Armenia’s healthcare system and the possible ways to deal with them.

The interlocutors agreed that over the years, Armenia has taken some steps to reform the given sphere, making tangible progress across several dimensions, but there is still a plenty of work to do along the path to a modern and qualified healthcare system, which necessitates consolidating the potential of Armenian and diaspora specialists.
