Ambassador of Serbia to Armenia presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan

Today, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia Dusan Spasojevic (residence in Athens) presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

The President of Armenia congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment, wished him every success and expressed hope that during his tenure Ambassador Spasojevic will further strengthen friendship of the Armenian and Serb peoples, promoting the interstate relations.

The parties concurred that the Armenian-Serbian relations have a centuries-long history and through the years transformed into friendship which is based on the historical and cultural similarities of the two nations, almost identical spiritual values, mutual respect and sympathy.

President Sargsyan noted with satisfaction that in the recent period, the political dialogue between Armenia and Serbia has intensified and it is necessary to develop it constantly. According to Serzh Sargsyan, the high level of the interstate relations is the best signal for invigorating cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

Ambassador Spasojevic thanked the President of Armenia for the congratulations and good wishes and assured that Serbia is greatly interested in the deepening the relations with the friendly Armenia and said that as ambassador of Serbia he will do his best to make it a reality.

The parties referred to the Armenian-Serbian cooperation in the framework of international organizations, potential and prospects for the development of the bilateral economic ties.
