The 26th joint session of the Board of Trustees and local bodies of the Hayastan Fund took place

Today, at the Government Reception House there took place the 26th joint session of the Board of Trustees and local bodies of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund which was chaired by the President of the Board, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
President Sargsyan congratulated all present on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, hailing it as a momentous jubilee in the context of the Armenia-Artsakh-Spyurk triumvirate.

“Distinguished Colleagues,

I congratulate us all on the 25th anniversary of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund. It is a momentous jubilee in the context of the Armenia-Artsakh-Spyurk triumvirate.
The Fund carries on with its exceptional mission. Thanks to productive and goal-oriented activities, the Fund continues to enjoy trust and sympathy of our nation. Twenty-five local bodies of the Fund are functioning in 22 countries. Apolitical nature of the Fund is observable and allows to bring together and intertwine our ideas, abilities, and resources, empowering through our unity Armenia, Artsakh, and Spyurk.

Programs and works implemented in the last 25 years are impressive indeed, both in their scope and quality.

Among them should be recognized the Winter humanitarian project in the framework of which in 1992-95 the raised funds were channeled towards the resolution of the pressing social issues. Because of the housing construction programs carried out in the disaster zone, multiple families, who had lost their housing in the 1988 earthquake, received new homes. Construction of roads linking together Goris and Stepanakert, north and south of Artsakh, Vardenis and Martakert allows to solve a number of vital and strategically important for our people issues.

I have no doubt that in the future too, the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund will continue its patriotic mission, inspiring us all with it successful projects, enthusiastic steps, and visible results.

On this beautiful occasion, it’s been decided to award the members of the Board of Trustees, members of the Supervisory Committee, and chairs of the local bodies of Hayastan Fund with the Hayastan-25 medals.

Yesterday we attended the exhibition dedicated to the activities of the Fund which presented brilliant episodes highlighting the activities of the Fund. I was impressed with what I saw, and I believe many were impressed too.
Representatives of two Armenian state, Spyurk structures and individuals, small and big donors have done a huge work in the last quarter of a century. The results of this work are tangible indeed.

This day presents the opportunity to express gratitude and appreciation also to the leadership of the Fund and the team of devotees who work day and night on the implementation of different programs.

Of course, appreciation doesn’t mean we can be complacent with what we already have.

Life goes on, and goes on with a new, greater speed. The methods and style of the works should be improved and upgraded every day. The Fund should always show its best, which means to be contemporary, efficient, and purposeful. I am confident that in the next 25 years, it will be just like that,” President Serzh Sargsyan said in his opening remarks.

In the framework of the agenda, the Executive Director of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund Ara Vardanian presented the report of the Executive Body of the Fund on the works conducted in 2016. At the conclusion of his presentation, the participants of the meeting watched a video on the activities of the Fund in 2016. The Council approved the report, taking note of the conclusions made by the Supervisory Body and Grand Thornton auditing company.

Another issue discussed at the session was the subject matter of the Marathon 2017 of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund which was introduced by the President of the Republic of Artsakh Bako Sahakian. The members of the Board of Trustees and representatives of local bodies presented their views and proposals. After deliberations, it was decided that the Marathon 2017 of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund will be aimed at the implementation of two major programs in the Republic of Artsakh – drilling of deep wells and construction of new irrigation system, and the use of solar energy. Noting that the import of the proposed projects is obvious for all, the President of Armenia expressed confidence that the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund just as before, this year too will fulfil its patriotic mission with honor. The Council approved the projects to be implemented through the Marathon 2017 of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund.
