New Year and Christmas-dated festive events for children launched at Presidential Palace

The New Year and Christmas-dated festive events were launched today at the Presidential Palace to bring together about 1,000 children from capital Yerevan, Armenia’s regions and Artsakh.

Earlier today, President Serzh Sargsyan and Mrs. Rita Sargsyan received children from a number of border communities. On December 25, the Presidential Palace will also host the winners of subject Olympiads (Kangaroo, Meghou), handicapped (disabled) children and Syrian-Armenian children who have been sheltered in Armenia.

In the presence of little guests, the Christmas tree lights lit up and the festive event kicked off. On behalf of First Lady Rita Sargsyan and on his own behalf, the President of the Republic of Armenia offered heartfelt congratulations to participants and all children on New Year and Christmas holidays and wished them good luck in the coming year.

“Dear children,

Mrs. Rita and I cordially congratulate you on the occasion of the Holiday Season and ask you to convey our congratulations to your sisters and brothers, your fathers and mothers, your grandparents.

We wish all your dreams may come true in 2018 that is in the New Year. You may think that your dreams will come true for a considerable extent thanks to others, maybe your parents, maybe a Santa Claus or another person, but all of you have to clearly realize that you are the ones to materialize your own dreams. The schoolchildren must do well at school so that your elders, your parents could see that either you want your dreams to come true. Some of the children here would probably want a lot of things in their dreams.

Believe, if these dreams fail to come true in 2018, they will be fulfilled in 2019 or 2020; never give up your dreams. And so when you become, for example, the age of Santa Claus, you can remember and say I have had so many dreams and some of them have been accomplished. Santa also has dreams, he wants our kids to be always upbeat, always laugh so that all our children can learn well and do not need anything. The same goes for the Snow Maiden.

That is why they are meeting with so many children these days and they know that the dreams of those children are realized who seek it,” the President of the Republic said and asked the children to voice their wishes and dreams in the presence of Santa Claus and Snow Maiden.

Tomorrow, December 26, within the frames of the festive events organized for children at the New Year’s Eve, Baghramyan-26 will host children and grandchildren from families of servicemen, Artsakh war veterans, soldiers wounded in the April 4-day war, Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, RA Police and National Security Service Staff.
