Armen Sarkissian receives OSCE PA President-led delegation

RA President Armen Sarkissian received a delegation led by OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President George Tsereteli.

Greeting the guests, the President of the Republic of Armenia noted with satisfaction that the Parliamentary Assembly is a good platform for the OSCE-participating States to exchange experience, make use of existing potentialities and develop international cooperation.

Stressing that Armenia has been a parliamentary republic for a while now, President Sarkissian said that parliamentary democracy is new to our country, and in this respect, we have a lot to learn from those countries that have embraced that path. Touching upon Armenia’s inner-political developments, he noted that the country is facing challenges inherent in the transitional period: dynamic changes are taking place, and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s assistance could be very significant here.

The parties took the opportunity to exchange views on the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s ongoing activities.
