President Vahagn Khachaturyan meets with Ambassador of France to Armenia Olivier Decottignies

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Olivier Decottignies at the residence of the President.

The President welcomed the Ambassador and thanked him for his intense activity and also, in the person of the Ambassador, the government and people of France for the support provided to Armenia in the light of the current realities.

Ambassador Olivier Decottignies expressed his gratitude for the reception and presented his impressions of his visits to the border areas of Armenia lately.
During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues related to further strengthening and consistent development of Armenian-French multi-level relations.

Ideas were exchanged on the activities of the European Union civilian observation mission in Armenia and its essential role.

Both sides underscored the importance of the ongoing democratic reforms in Armenia, as well as the need to establish sustainable and lasting peace in the region and to take consistent steps to this end.

Toward the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue effective working contacts.
