President Vahagn Khachaturyan receives Ambassador of Sweden Patrik Svensson

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden Patrick Svensson on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Sweden.

The President congratulated the Ambassador and wished prosperity to the Kingdom and people of Sweden.

Vahagn Khachaturyan specifically noted, "Please accept my congratulations on the National Day and my best wishes to you, your country, and your people, I wish you peace and welfare.

I would also like to thank for the support that Sweden provides to the Republic of Armenia aimed at establishing peace in our country and the region and, of course, ensuring a prosperous life for our people."


Ambassador Patrik Svensson expressed gratitude to the President for the reception and congratulations and noted that it was a great privilege for him to be hosted at the Residence of the President.

During the meeting, a wide range of issues on the agenda for cooperation between Armenia and Sweden were discussed. The sides touched upon the developments in the South Caucasus region.

The President presented the details on the history and essence of the Karabakh conflict.

Ambassador Svensson emphasized that Sweden supports Armenia's position to establish sustainable and lasting peace in the region.

Both sides highlighted the importance of promoting close cooperation between Armenia and Sweden on various international platforms.

In the course of discussion, ideas were exchanged with regard to Armenia's approaches to the normalization of relations with its neighbors.
