President sent a letter of condolences on the demise of the Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem, Archbishop Torgom Manukyan

President Serzh Sargyan sent today a letter of condolences to His Holiness, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II on the demise of the Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem, Archbishop Torgom Manukyan.

The letter states:

“Your Holiness,

I learned with deep sorrow the news of passing away of the Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem, Archbishop Torgom Manukyan.

Archbishop Torgom Manukyan having led the Armenian Patriarchy of Jerusalem and devoting himself infinitely to his people and faith, made the invaluable contribution to the dissemination of the spiritual values of the Armenian nation as well as to the establishment of tolerance and the atmosphere of a sound dialogue among different religions. The memory of the great intellectual, the staunch devotee of the Armenian Apostolic Church will live in our hearts forever.

I am deeply sorry for this irreplaceable lose and sincerely share the pain of all the followers of the Armenian Apostolic Church. At this difficult time for us all, I pray God to give endurance to our souls and spiritual serenity.”
