Telegrams of Condolence
President sent a letter of condolences on the demise of the sculptor Arto Chakmakjian
President Sarkissian sent a letter of condolences on the demise of the sculptor Arto Chakmakjian.
The letter reads, “We suffered a painful loss - Arto Chakmakjian has died. We’ve lost a great man in whose each creation the restless heart of our times is beating, in whose works the Fatherland is always present, obvious or oblivious Fatherland which was living inside him and which made him live.
He was sincere when he said, “I left Armenia to be able to love it. In my soul, I never left Armenia.”
The works of Arto enriched the treasury of our art and brought the Armenian art to the international arena.
He will continue to be present in Armenia, in our memory, in the history of our culture.
I convey my sincere condolences to the Maestro’s family and friends and share their grief.
