President Sargsyan sent a congratulatory letter on the 20th Anniversary of German Reunification

President Serzh Sargsyan congratulated the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Christian Wulff and Chancellor Angela Merkel on the 20th Anniversary of German Reunification.

The letter of President Sargsyan addressed to the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Christian Wulff states:

“Excellency,

On behalf of the Armenian people and my own behalf, I cordially congratulate and send my best wishes to You and the friendly people of Germany on the 20th Anniversary of German Reunification.

I am confident that friendly relations between our two countries will continue to expand and deepen on bilateral and multilateral levels, as well as in the framework of the EU Eastern Partnership program.

Taking this opportunity, I wish You new success and perpetual unity and prosperity to the people of Germany.”

In his congratulatory letter to Chancellor Angela Merkel President Sargsyan states:

“On behalf of the Armenian people and my own behalf, I cordially congratulate and send by best wishes to You and the friendly people of Germany on National Day – the 20th jubilee of German Reunification.

German Reunification, which became reality twenty years ago, was an event of historic significance not only for the two parts of the German nation separated for decades but also for the entire world, signifying the end of Cold War.

I am please to state that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between independent Armenia and united Germany almost twenty years ago, our bilateral relations registered continuous growth not only in political but also trade, economic, cultural and other areas. Germany has always supported the people of Armenia and assisted in the implementation of social and economic reforms.

Armenia attaches special importance to the steadfast development of cooperation with Germany in bilateral and multilateral settings, particularly, in the framework of EU. Germany is also a key partner on Armenia’s crucial road toward Eurointegration.

My visit to Germany last June and our meeting restated earnestness
of our two countries to expand and deepen the Armenian-German relations which have been developing rather dynamically.

Based on this earnestness, I reiterate my invitation to You to visit Armenia. Your visit will undoubtedly invigorate the Armenian-German political dialogue and will created an excellent opportunity for defining new areas of our cooperation.

Sharing Your festive mood, I once again congratulate You on this glorious jubilee and wish You great success in all Your endeavors. I also wish bright future and even greater prosperity to the friendly people of Germany.

Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
