President Serzh Sargsyan sent a congratulatory message to the Yezidi community of Armenia on the occasion of new year
The message states:
“I cordially congratulate the Yezidi community of Armenia on the occasion of new year -Malake Taus.
The Yezidis have been living side by side with us, Armenians for centuries. Today too, as one of the most vibrant communities in Armenia and as law abiding citizens of Armenia, who enjoy full rights, you bring your unique contribution to our country’s advancement and development. We, in our turn, as the state, feel special responsibility towards national minorities living in Armenia, which don’t have state entities; and it is our duty to share your concerns.
Distinguished representatives of the Yezidi community of Armenia,
I congratulate you on this beautiful holiday and join in your joy, wishing you all the best. Let your home be always filled with songs and laughter. Let the national Yezidi traditions, language and culture stay vibrant and let us, the citizens of multinational Armenia, rejoice in your success.”
