“I am ready to work with you to further strengthen the cooperation between our two countries”: President Emmanuel Macron congratulated President Armen Sarkissian

The President of the Republic of France Emmanuel Macron sent a congratulatory message to President Armen Sarkissian on the occasion of Independence Day.


The message reads in particular:

“Distinguished Mr. President,

I send you my warmest congratulations on the occasion of Armenia’s Independence Day as well as wishes of happiness and prosperity to the Armenian people.

France and Armenia can be proud of the close relations, based on historical ties, common memory, and vision. These relations are rich with opportunities which we have to develop.

At this juncture, when your country has taken the course of unprecedented reforms, I would like to reconfirm the readiness of the French government to assist you in the implementation of the large-scale reforms together with the European Union and Council of Europe, to support the initiatives aimed at the strengthening of legal state.

I am ready to work with you to further the already excellent political relations between our countries and solidify our cooperation. I will continue to bring my support to the joint programs in the areas of university education, teaching, science, and culture. It will allow to promote the education of youth in your country and will ensure Armenia’s place in the family of Francophonie as a continuation of the success of the 17th Summit of Francophonie held in Yerevan.


Mr. President, I would like to reiterate the commitment and resolve of France, as a Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, to promote a just and lasting solution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict for the benefit of regional stability and the well-being of the peoples.
