President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to Jermuk

On November 7-8, President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to Jermuk to observe extensive works conducted in town.

The President of Armenia visited the air-tram area, stopped at the zero station and observed the construction works of the new skiing slope, as well as the cleaning up and development processes underway throughout the air-tram area. Seventy million AMD have been spent to accomplish the latter, while 200 million AMD were allocated for the construction of a new skating ring.

Serzh Sargsyan also observed the entirely renovated 3,7 km long road connecting Kechut neighborhood with the left-side section of the town. At the City Hall of Jermuk the President of Armenia conducted a working meeting dedicated to the programs for a comprehensive development of the town.

The main issue of the meeting was the review of the process of implementation of the tasks assigned during the June 18 meeting conducted by the President, as well as the discussion of the current activities. Vice Prime Minister Armen Gevorgian presented a brief report on the implementation of the assigned tasks, the Minister of Economy, Nerses Eritsian spoke about the strategic plan for the city’s development, and the Minister for Urban Development, Vardan Vardanian introduced the special procedure on construction zones.

The President of Armenia, the President of the Armenian Chess Federation, Serzh Sargsyan met with the members of the men’s and women’s national Armenian chess teams, who are training in Jermuk in preparation for the 38th World Chess Olympiad to be held in Dresden on November 12-20.

Serzh Sargsyan conversed warmly with the team members, inquired about their training and readiness to compete and wished our national team good luck at the tournament.
