President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to Armavir marz
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to Armavir marz.
President Sargsyan visited the site of the renovated section of the water-pipe in Hushakert village and attended the ceremony of inauguration of the Armavir water canal. Afterwards, Serzh Sargsyan familiarized with the program of the reconstruction of the irrigation system which is aimed at the improvement of the water distribution systems of Armavir and Talin and creation of new jobs in rural areas.
The 36,33mln USD program, which was started in 2009, is being implemented with the assistance of the World Bank. The vital program of the reconstruction of the irrigation system will help to create almost 9000 short-term agricultural jobs and later, when extra 7000 hectare of lands also become irrigable, additional 2400 permanent jobs will be created. The program is to be concluded in summer of 2011.
