President Serzh Sargsyan attended the inauguration of the exhibition dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the “RA Presidential Award”
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan visited the exhibition dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the “RA Presidential Award” opened at the Union of the Armenian Artists. The exhibition presents the artistic compositions - winners of the Presidential Award of the last ten years.
The “RA Presidential Award” is an annual award which is intended to recognize and encourage young and adult Armenian individuals prominent in the areas of culture and science, who have made considerable contribution in the mentioned areas. In the framework of the exhibition, the awardees will be provided with the opportunity to sell the presented works.
Up till now, 161 professionals from different areas have been awarded the “RA Presidential Award”, among them representatives of natural, technical and humanitarian sciences and information technologies, physics, medicine, arts, literature, classical music and other areas. Since the establishment of the award, the number of the relevant areas has increased from five to twelve. Monetary component of the award, which was established by the Presidential decree, is provided by the Poghossian Foundation, represented by Jean and Albert Poghossians.
The event at the Union of the Armenian Artists was initiated by the All-Armenian Hayastan Foundation which manages the process of nomination for the award.
