President Serzh Sargsyan met today at the Karen Demirjian Sport and Culture Complex with over two thousand activists of the United Liberal National Party (MIAK) on the occasion of the conclusion of the “Nagorno Karabakh: The Truth and Facts” program carried out by the Party.

The MIAK activists presented to Serzh Sargsyan works that have been conducted by the Party for last four years and achievements and told him about the process of implementation of the “Nagorno Karabakh: The Truth and Facts” program and its outcome. They noted that the main objective of the project was a targeted dissemination of a comprehensive package of the historical causes, process and facts pertinent to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict among the governments of all states, political and NGO organization, as well as among the influential and interested representatives of reputable international structures. The strategic goal of the project is to promote the international recognition of Nagorno Karabakh. The President of Armenia familiarized also with the database of the MIAK; until now four million letters have already been sent to their addresses.

Welcoming the initiative by the activists of MIAK and congratulating them on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of the Party, President Serzh Sargsyan said,

“Four years are not much for a party and your party has still to go down a long road – to mature and to establish traditions. Of course, it is commendable that the party comprises young people and in these four years you have become recognizable to our society. I salute all those young people who actively participate in social and political processes and in the course are trying to bring their input to the development of our country.

In this brief period of time, I have also got acquainted with your initiative, with the work you have conducted, endeavoring to convey truthful information about Nagorno Karabakh to the world. It’s undoubtedly a very commendable initiative and gratifying job for two reasons: first, for us it’s one of the most painful issues, one of the most challenging problems we face. And despite huge efforts we exercise, despite the fact that the problem has been in existence for the last twenty years, unfortunately, there are still many people in the world, political and public figures, who are not familiar with the issue, who don’t possess factual information, particularly, since our opponents do not scruple to use any means to misinform the international community. And second, this is your initiative, your own decision. Such independent steps and wishes, desire to participate in the resolution of the problems facing our country should always be welcomed.

Every fraction of our society undergoes generation change; people, who have received good education, who are knowledgeable and know how to interact in the contemporary world, who are ambitions and hardworking, people who want to achieve success through their work and energy both in private life and in our country’s public life are entering the stage. It is great. Only this can make Armenia competitive and only this way we will be successful. I once again congratulate you and wish you success. I am also very grateful to you for the work you’ve done,” said President Sargsyan.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the activists of the MIAK presented the President with the copies of the compiled and translated into different languages documents.
