President Serzh Sargsyan visited today Arabkir Children’s hospital in Yerevan. At the Arabkir medical center, the President of Armenia was briefed on the results of the Arabkir medical center – Institute for Children’s and Adolescents’ Health development program implemented in 2007-2011 and aimed at the improvement of child care and establishment of an outpatient department. At the medical center, the President of Armenia familiarized with the working conditions at the three-story facility of the Center which comprises a renovated and newly equipped outpatient department and child care departments.

During the tour, President Sargsyan was informed that in the past five years the previously dilapidated and shabby building of child care department has been totally renovated and will be serving as an outpatient department of the Center, while the child care facility has been relocated to a newly constructed building.

The Arabkir medical center comprises three main units – Arabkir medical center, ArBeS health center and institute for adolescent health in Yerevan, as well as eight child rehabilitation centers in the marzes of Armenia.

The medical center provides inpatient medical services to over nine thousand children each year, while over twenty thousand children, adolescents and adults receive there outpatient treatment.
