Serzh Sargsyan on the eve of the New Year and Christmas holidays visited defense positions of our country
The President of Armenia, Commander-in-Chief Serzh Sargsyan today, on the eve of the New Year and Christmas holidays visited defense positions of our country.
President Sargsyan was accompanied by the Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II and Minister of Defense Seiran Ohanian.
The President of Armenia observed the changing of the guard, familiarized with the social conditions and amenities of the servicemen, and conversed with them on the issues of their interest.
Serzh Sargsyan congratulated the troops of the Armenian Army with the approaching holidays, wished them all the best and thanked for their dedicated service. “Your job is the most important one for our country. It is the most important because if you are not standing here like a rock, if you are not confident, our people will not feel confident. Your power, your confidence radiates from here, this border, because our country begins here,” the President of Armenia said.
President Sargsyan noted that the Armenian troops have become a straightjacket for those on the other side of the border, because they know the abilities of the Armenian soldier pretty well. According to the President, it is not only the parents who are proud with their soldier-sons but every one – children, young and aged people.
A group of military servicemen, who have demonstrated dedication and valor during their service, have received gifts from the President.
President Serzh Sargsyan met also with the residents of the border Voskepar and Kirants villages and congratulated them on the upcoming holidays.
President Sargsyan conversed with the villagers on the issues which interested them the most, inquired of the problems existing in the border areas and gave relevant instructions.
