President Serzh Sargsyan participated at the events dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Armenian printing

President Serzh Sargsyan participated today at the unveiling of the Eternal Life sculpture dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Armenian printing. The sculpture is located in the vicinity of the Moskovian-Sarian intersection. It was created by our compatriot, who’s living in France, sculptor David Yerevantsi. The sculpture symbolizes the story of the rescue of the greatest manuscript displayed in Matenadaran – “Selected Works from Mush.”

Today, the President of Armenia participated also at another event dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Armenian printing – opening in the Museum of History of Armenia of the “Eternity of Scripts” exhibition. Here, in one display four major museums of Armenia - the Museum of History, the Museum of the Holy See of Saint Etchmiadzin, the Mespor Mashots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts - Matenadaran and the National Library of Armenia presented the best and most precious artifacts of the rich Armenian written culture.

In the National Gallery of Armenia, President Serzh Sargsyan observed also the triptych by the modern artist Arevik Petrossian named the “Retrospective Glance”. The artist has created this piece particularly on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Armenian printing.
