Working visit of the President Armen Sarkissian to Lori

President Armen Sarkissian made a working visit to Lori marz.

His first stop was the Agroholidng Armenia Company in Spitak which is engaged in complex farming.

Back in September, at the annual Armenia Expo-2018 exhibition in Yerevan, the unique pavilion and production of Agroholding Armenia Company attracted President Armen Sarkssian’s attention.
Agroholding Armenia works in the area of husbandry and dairy production. Management of the Company noted that Agroholding is breeding pedigree animals only.

The President familiarized with the works and forthcoming programs of the Company, tested samples of their production, conversed with the employees. Currently, the production of Agroholding Armenia is consumed mostly in Armenia but works are underway to enter new markets.

President Sarkissian stressed the importance of cooperating with international organizations which have experience in this area. In his words, it will allow to introduce new culture and new standards in husbandry and production of agricultural goods. It will become also an impetus for the expansion of the production.

President Armen Sarkissian, who is in Lori on a working visit, and Mrs. Nouneh Sarkissian in Spitak laid flowers on the cross-stone immortalizing the memory of the victims of the 1988 devastating earthquake.

In Debet community of Lori marz, the SMART Center of the Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) has been operational since May 27, 2018. President Armen Sarkissian and Mrs. Nouneh Sarkissian visited today the Center.

Students of the SMART Center are children from different rural communities and not only from Lori marz.

President Sarkissian toured the Center where kids are taught programing, dancing, drawing, singing, and other subjects. The President conversed with the children and observed their works. Armen Sarkissian expressed his admiration for the conditions and opportunities provided by the Center and noted that it was very important that the Center doesn’t detach children from their land, their rural communities.

“Children attending the Center should feel as citizens of the 21st century and here, away from the city, in village can become someone and achieve results,” President Sarkissian said.

The President viewed as necessary also visits by children from Yerevan and other cities to the Center where they can familiarize not only with the Center and its capacities but also with rural life.

“This is a more kindhearted place where children can mature as individuals and citizens,” President Sarkissian noted.

Armen Sarkissian toured also the smart room where the kids demonstrated abilities of the robot created by them. The President said that their current activities is an instrument of their future. He wished the children success and expressed confidence that robots they create will be upgraded in the future and will be used widely.

At the children’s development center, children from Gyulagarak were also attending that day. The President donated 1 million AMD to the kindergarten of Gyulagarak as well as over 400 books to the SMART Center.

During the meeting with the children at the SMART, President Sarkissian hailed the wonderful Center located in the heart of nature and noted that there are few place in the world that have such centers. Armen Sarkissian underscored the importance of knowledge. “Your knowledge will stay with you always, and will never depreciate,” President Sarkissian noted. Responding to the questions raised by the kids, Armen Sarkissian said, “You hold your future in your hands. You also hold the future of the country in your hands.”

At the conclusion of the meeting, President Sarkissian and Mrs. Sarkissian presented to the drawing section of the Center paintings made by them personally. President Sarkissian made an inscription in the newly opened book of guests. His inscription was the first, “Touching and splendid,” the President wrote.
