On April 11-13, at the invitation of the US President Barak Obama, President Serzh Sargsyan participated in the works of the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington.

On April 12, in the nation’s capital President Serzh Sargsyan met with the President of the United States Barak Obama.

The two Presidents discussed the prospects of deepening the Armenian-American bilateral relations.

Serzh Sargsyan and Barak Obama spoke also about the Armenian-Turkish process of normalization, exchanged views on regional developments, and spoke about the current stage of the NK peace process.

On April 12, President Sargsyan in Washington met also with Prime Minister Erdogan.

Later, the Armenian leader visited the Washington National Cathedral, paid tribute to and laid a wreath at the tomb of the American President Woodrow Wilson.

On April 12, the President of Armenia held a meeting with the representatives of the Armenian Assembly of America and the Bureau of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation

At the meeting issues related to the preservation of the Armenian identity, Armenia-Diaspora relations, and the role of the Armenian Diaspora structures in strengthening these relations were discussed.

With the representatives of the Armenian Assembly of America and American group of Hay Dat President Sargsyan spoke about the current stage of the Armenian-Turkish process of normalization.

In the framework of the Global Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, on April 13 President Serzh Sargsyan met with the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The parties discussed the prospects of the Armenian-Turkish normalization process. The Secretary of State reiterated the urge of President Barak Obama to continue the process of normalization without preconditions. Serzh Sargsyan and Hillary Clinton discussed also issues pertinent to bilateral relations and the NK peace process conducted in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.

Same day, the President of Armenia met with Congressman Adam Schiff. The President of Armenia expressed gratitude to the Congressman for his efforts in Congress aimed at the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and assistance provided to Armenia and Artsakh.
