Today President Serzh Sarkissian received the world famous singer Charles Aznavour and his impresario Levon Sayan. The great singer arrived to Armenia with his family.
“My each visit to Armenia makes me really happy,” Charles Aznavour said and noted with satisfaction that now there is an Armenia native in the family – his grandson’s wife was born in Armenia.
Welcoming Aznavour’s visit to Armenia, the President of Armenia expressed confidence that it will be filled for our great compatriot with many happy moments.
Serzh Sarkissian said that Charles Azanvour’s art and activities, which duly present Armenia to the world, are invaluable. “Every Armenian is proud to have such a compatriot. Perception of Armenia is shaped also through you and your art,” President Sarkissian underlined.
The great singer told about his impressions of Yerevan, noting that he was pleasantly surprised with the changes.
During a candid and cordial conversation the President of Armenia and Charles Aznavour spoke about the life in Armenia. Charles Aznavour said that development of the rural areas he considers the greatest priority. Noting that the even development of the country stands high on the Government’s agenda, Serzh Sarkissian said that significant steps are being taken toward the resolution of that problem such as, for instance, channeling of the resources accumulated in Yerevan towards different regions.
