Today President Serzh Sargsyan received the First Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Alireza Sheikh-Attar.

First Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran passed to the President of Armenia warm greetings from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

President Sargsyan noted with satisfaction the stable progress of the Armenian-Iranian relations and the steady and dependable partnership of the two states. According to Serzh Sargsyan, the existing legal field provides ample opportunities for enhanced cooperation.

Alireza Sheikh-Attar underlined the high level of bilateral cooperation and noted that the progression in the relations is based on deep historical roots of the two nations, centuries-long friendship, and likeness of cultures.

Stressing that the economic cooperation is focused mainly on the major programs of strategic importance, the two sides mentioned the importance of developing trade relations as well.

At the meeting the high ranking official of the Ministry of Foreign of Iran presented the latest developments on the negotiations over the Iranian nuclear program.

The two sides discussed also regional issues and the current stage of the NK peace process.
