Today President Serzh Sargsyan received the participants of the meeting of the Heads of the CIS Security and Special Forces agencies.

Stressing the productivity of these multi-lateral meetings, the President of Armenia said that they are also important from the view point of information sharing and exchange of experience, and for the programming and implementation of the joint actions against dangerous practices. According to the President, the world is changing rapidly; new realities and challenges are emerging and at the same time the requirements toward the agencies providing for security are changing as well. Serzh Sargsyan said that the regular contacts among the security and special forces agencies promote concurrent development and implementation of the actions to meet the challenges.

The Chairman of the Council of the Heads of the CIS Security and Special Forces agencies, Chief of the Russia’s Federal Security Service, General Alexander Bortnikov presented briefly the issues which had been discussed during the 25th session. It was noted that the issues were mainly related to the anti-terrorist activities and aimed at providing a high level of coordinated action and cooperation. It was also noted that for a higher efficiency it would be necessary to establish the corresponding legal base.

President Serzh Sargsyan considered the Council of the Heads of the Security and Special Forces agencies to be one of the most active and efficient bodies of the CIS.
