The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan met with the newly appointed judges of the Court of Cassation
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received at his office the newly appointed members of the Court of Cassation. The President of Armenia congratulated the members of the highest court on their nomination and wished them success stressing that on the current stage of reformation of the legal and court system and with the country’s development in general, the role of the Court of Cassation will be significant. “If we are able to create truly independent and impartial courts and the adequate court system, we will become a normal, developed, and democratic nation,” said Serzh Sargsyan.
The President of Armenia stressed that since this a body which makes collaborate decisions, each member of the Court of Cassation ought to feel responsible for each and every adopted decision because “collaborate decision does not mean less personal responsibility,” noted the President of Armenia.
At the meeting discussed were also issues pertaining to the strengthening of the role of the courts and efficient execution of justice, as well as to the necessary steps to increase the public trust toward the judiciary.
