The newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Republic of Armenia presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan

Today, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to the Republic of Armenia, Shemi Tzur presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

Noting with satisfaction the current level of political dialogue between the two countries, the President of Armenia congratulated the Ambassador of Israel on the recent Parliamentary elections in his country and expressed confidence that traditionally friendly Armenian-Israeli relations would maintain the momentum. Serzh Sargsyan attached importance to the further deepening of relations on different levels and in different areas, including those in the framework of international organizations, mentioning that all the necessary prerequisites for such cooperation are in place.

After the official ceremony of presenting the credentials, the President of Armenia and the Ambassador of Israel held a private meeting. The Israeli Ambassador noted that he was greatly honored to be the Ambassador of Israel to Armenia and said that he would do his best to further enhance cooperation between Armenia and Israel and deepen relations with the friendly people of Armenia.

At the meeting, the President of Armenia and the Ambassador of Israel exchanged views on the Middle East peace process, negotiations on the settlement of the NK conflict, and the Armenian-Turkish dialogue. The Ambassador of Israel welcomed the ongoing dialogue between Armenia and Turkey and expressed hope that the relations would be normalized.

Stressing the unacceptability of the attempts to solve problems through military means, the parties underlined that there is no alternative to peace negotiations for the resolution of the existing conflicts, and said that peace and stability are the values which bring prosperity to all nations.
