According to President Sargsyan, the Armenian authorities are constantly focused on solving problems of the most vulnerable groups of the society, including refugees, and work in conjunction with the specialized structures such as UNHCR Yerevan Office, the International Organization for Migration, etc.

Serzh Sargsyan said that the Armenian authorities do their best to fully integrate the refugees in Armenia’s social life without ever politicizing or exploiting their problems.

From the viewpoint of improving the relevant legislation, the President of Armenia viewed the adoption of the law on refugees and asylum seekers, which corresponds to international standards, as a step forward. He also noted that currently works were underway to bring the state administration structures in conformity with the European standards. Serzh Sargsyan also said that to fully solve the problems of the refugees Armenia today doesn’t yet have adequate resources, and with this regard our country anticipates the assistance of international organizations.
