President Serzh Sargsyan had a private meeting with the Vice-Chairman of the Russian Government Sergei Ivanov who is in Armenia on a working visit.

Welcoming the high guest, President Sargsyan expressed confidence that his visit would serve as an additional stimulus for the further expansion of the Armenian-Russian relations. The interlocutors stressed their mutual work in different official capacities and warm personal relations.

The President of Armenia and the Vice-Chairman of the Russian Government mentioned with satisfaction strategic partnership of the two countries and the current high level of political dialogue which is attested to by the expanding cooperation in different areas, implementation of new initiatives and programs.

Serzh Sargsyan and Sergei Ivanov praised the dynamics of trade and economic relations between the partner states and high level of cooperation in the humanitarian area. At the meeting discussed were issues pertaining to the cooperation in the areas of transportation, telecommunication, energy and others.

The parties spoke also about the NK peace process and exchanged views on different regional and international issues.

President Serzh Sargsyan stressed once again that there could be no precondition for the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations and reiterated the readiness of our country to establish normal relations with Turkey without preconditions in the framework of the reached agreements and established timetable. Serzh Sargsyan also underscored that any attempt on behalf of Turkey to interfere with the resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict would only jeopardize the entire process of peace negotiations.
