The newly appointed Ambassador of Croatia to the Republic of Armenia presented her credentials to the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan

Today, the newly appointed Ambassador of Croatia to the Republic of Armenia Mrs. Vesna Cvetkovic-Kurelec (residence in Athens) presented her credentials to the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan.

The President of Armenia congratulated the Ambassador on her nomination and expressed hope that she would use her experience and knowledge to promote relations between the two countries.

Noting, that Armenia was interested in deepening friendly relations between Armenia and Croatia, President Sargsyan said that the upcoming visit of Stjepan Mesic, the President of Croatia to Armenia, which is to take place on May 21-23, testifies to the mutual desire of the two countries to expand their cooperation agenda. The parties agreed that the Presidential visit would become a serious impetus for the enhancement of the political dialogue and beneficial cooperation in different areas. With the view of invigorating the economic relations, President Sargsyan stressed the importance of creating the necessary legal field.

The two sides discussed also possibilities of cooperation in the framework of the European initiatives – Eastern Partnership and EU Black See cooperation programs.

The President of Armenia expressed satisfaction with Croatia’s balanced position on regional issues in different international structures. Ambassador Vesna Cvetkovic-Kurelec said that her country advocates the peaceful resolution of the NK conflict and with this regard supports the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group.
