President Serzh Sargsyan received the Governor of Yaroslavle region of the Russian Federation, Sergei Vakhrukov

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the Governor of Yaroslavle region of the Russian Federation, Sergei Vakhrukov.

During the October 2008 visit of President Medvedev to Armenia, the administrations of Armavir marz of the Republic of Armenia and Yaroslavle region of the Russian Federation signed agreement on cooperation in the areas of trade and economy, science, technology, and culture.

Noting with satisfaction growing dynamics of cooperation between Armenia and Russia in various areas, President Sargsyan stressed the importance of strengthening direct ties between the administrative regions of the two countries and expanding the cooperation. He welcomed the initiative of Governor Vakhrukov to create opportunities for active contacts between Armenia and Yaroslavle region and stressed the importance of identifying potentials of both sides for a better understanding of mutual opportunities at the market.

The Governor said that Yaroslavle and Armavir marz have been interacting actively and there is great potential and opportunities to expand the cooperation. Very soon, the representations will be opened reciprocally in both regions that will become centers for information exchange and classification of cooperation priorities.

Sergei Vakhrukov also said that the Armenian community of Yaroslavle is highly respected and that a number of Armenian businessmen implement major projects in the region.
