President Serzh Sargsyan received the Vice President of France Telecom Orange Company Olaf Swantee
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the Vice President of France Telecom Orange Company Olaf Swantee and the Executive Director of Orange Armenia Bruno Duthoit.
The President of Armenia welcomed the entry of France Telecom Orange into the Armenian market and expressed confidence that it would add a new meaning to the Armenian-French cooperation. According to Serzh Sargsyan, presence of this French company will to further liberate the telecommunication market and may become a good base for the development of the other sectors of economy.
Noting, that services provided in our country in the area of telecommunication, including rates, have a huge potential for development, the President of Armenia said that the entry of the third provider is important for a number of reasons: first, France Telecom Orange will bring to Armenia its experience and a variety of services, second, it will increase the competition and consumers will benefit from that competition, also new investments will be made, and new jobs will be created.
The Vice President of France Telecom Orange Company Olaf Swantee reiterated the Company’s objective to provide high-quality services and to offer swift, up to date internet and phone connection. “We are very pleased that we will be working in the Armenian market and would like to assure you that we will not disappoint our customers,” – the Vice President of the Company stressed.
Olaf Swantee presented the programs of Orange Armenia Company, the activities of the Company aimed at the development of infrastructure and noted that everything possible is being made to provide services to the Armenian customers by the end of this year. He also informed that in 2009 the Company intends to invest 80 million USD, planning to work not only in the capital but also in the regions of the Republic.
“We are interested to see France Telecom Orange - one of the world’s leading operators in the area of telecommunications - operating in our country as soon as possible,” – President Sargsyan underscored and added that the Government is ready to assist in any possible way in the resolution of the problems that may arise in the process.
