At the invitation of the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, the President of the Syria Bashar Al-Asad will arrive to Armenia on a two-day official visit
At the invitation of the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, the President of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashar Al-Asad, accompanied by his spouse Asma Al-Asad, will arrive to Armenia on a two-day official visit on June 17.
On the same day, at the residence of the President of Armenia there will take place the official ceremony of welcoming the President of Syria, which will be followed by a tête-à-tête meeting of Serzh Sargsyan and Bashar Al-Asad. Later, the official delegations of the two countries will meet in the extended format, and at the conclusion of the meeting the sides will sign a number of intergovernmental and interagency documents. The Presidents of Armenia and Syria will give a joint press conference.
In honor of the President of the Syrian Arab Republic and Mrs. Asma Al-Asad, the President of Armenia and First Lady Rita Sargsyan will give the official supper in the evening of June 17.
In the framework of his official visit to Armenia Bashar Al-Asad will also meet with the Speaker of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamian, Prime Minister Tigran Sarkissian and will be hosted by the Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II.
On June 18, the Presidents of Armenia and Syria will participate at the official opening of the Armenian-Syrian business forum.
During his visit to Armenia, the President of Syria will also visit the Matenadaran.
The President of the Syrian Arab Republic will depart from Armenia on June 18.
