President Serzh Sargsyan received Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg and his delegation comprising Assistant Secretary of State Phillip Gordon, US Ambassador to Armenia Maria Yovanovitch, and other officials.

Welcoming the high guest, the President of Armenia said. “Armenia
attaches great importance to further development of her relations with the United States and views your visit in that very context.”

The President of Armenia expressed gratitude to the Government of the United States for the multifaceted assistance provided to our country from the very first days of independence.

Speaking about the prospects for the development of the Armenian-American relations, the two sides underlined mutual desire and readiness to advance with cooperation in different areas.

Serzh Sargsyan hailed special attitude toward the Armenian community of the United States. Both sides agreed that the Armenian-Americans are a strong bridge connecting the two countries.
The two sides exchanged views on the issues pertaining to regional security, Armenian-Turkish relations, and the NK peace process.

The high representative of the US Administration conveyed to President Sargsyan a message from the Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.
