Today, President Serzh Sargsyan made a working visit to Lori and Shirak marzes.

In Spitak the President of Armenia laid a wreath at the monument dedicated to the victims of the Artsakh war and the Great Eghern and toured the cultural exhibition organized on the occasion of the town holiday.

In Spitak, Gyumri and Shirakamut Serzh Sargsyan visited the construction sites of the housing intended for the families, which were left shelterless after the earthquake, and observed the construction works.

The President of Armenia conversed with the residents of those areas and listened to their problems.

Currently, construction of 25 houses for the shelterless families in Shirakamut is progressing vigorously. In Shirakamut Serzh Sargsyan was hosted by the Vardevanian’s large family, which has been leaving in a temporary housing for the last twenty years. The house for the Vardevanians is now under construction. During a sincere conversation around the tea table, the Vardevanian shared with the President of the country their concerns and expectations and told about their intention to start a new life after finally getting a much anticipated home.

President Sargsyan gave the large family words of encouragement, noting that the government would do its best to solve the social problems of the most vulnerable groups of our society. “Four children being raised under this roof, is the greatest wealth of all and the state must first of all support this kind of families,” Serzh Sargsyan said to this hosts and promised to attend their housewarming celebrations.
