President Serzh Sargsyan visited the police educational center and the Police Academy

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan, accompanied by the Police Chief Alik Sarkissian, visited the police educational center and the Police Academy to get familiarized with the police workforce training and retraining system.

At the police educational center, which is dealing mainly with training and retraining of the police cadre, preliminary training and retraining courses are being provided for junior and mid-level commanding personnel. Serzh Sargsyan toured the facility which through the energetic assistance of the OSCE Yerevan Office has been recently renovated and re-equipped.

The President of Armenia was introduced to the daily activities of the center. It was noted that serious steps are being taken to improve the educational process and methodological base of the programs for the servicemen, to introduce new technologies and advanced teaching methods and modes, engaging also the experience of other countries.

The President of Armenia toured also the Police Academy and observed the educational process. Serzh Sargsyan gave instructions to make allocations from the next year’s budget for the fundamental renovation of the Academy premise.

President Serzh Sargsyan visited also the guard and patrol police battalion.
