President Serzh Sargsyan received pupils and students recipients of the annual Presidential award in the field of information technology

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received 30 pupils and students recipients of the annual Presidential award in the field of information technology.

The President of Armenia congratulated the winners and wished them new success. President Sargsyan stressed the importance of this contest initiated by Synopsys Armenia, which has already become traditional, noting that it provides yet another opportunity to reveal and develop abilities of gifted young people. “When we declare that educated and modern generation is our wealth, we first of all mean young people like you. Today the advancement of any society is judged also against the level of accessibility of information technologies. Wide assess to information technologies implies a high level of education and improvement in all spheres of life. Thus, if we want our country to be compatible we simply must solve this problem. Please be assured that your work is needed and appreciated. The state will always be supportive of the young people such as you,” Serzh Sargsyan said.

The winners of the contest thanked the President of Armenia and the leadership of Synopsys Armenia for their thoughtfulness and the opportunities to further advance their knowledge and skills.

The President of Synopsys, Executive Director Chi Fung Chan said that the company has long-term programs in Armenia and would continue to invest in the IT educational and scientific area.

Serzh Sargsyan said that this was one of those cases when interests of the state and private sector totally coincide and the state was ready to support the company’s initiatives serving these interests.

Serzh Sargsyan awarded the Vice President of Synopsys Company, CEO of Synopsys Armenia, Rich Goldman with a special prize for his significant contribution to the promotion in Armenia of the annual contest in the area of information technologies.
