President Serzh Sargsyan received the Minister for Industrial Policy

On October 17, President Serzh Sargsyan received the Minister for Industrial Policy, Co-chair of the Armenian-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission on economic and trade cooperation Vladimir Novitski.

The President of Armenia stressed the necessity of stimulation and improved coordination of the activities of the Armenian-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission on economic and trade cooperation and noted that it could become a serious impetus for advancing economic cooperation.

The parties agreed that the trade turnover between the two countries, which due to the ongoing economic and financial economic crisis has dwindled, was not adequate to the existing potential. They also said that there are great unutilized opportunities in the area of economic cooperation and the intergovernmental commission should undertake serious steps to use them aptly.

Among the prospective areas for cooperation mentioned were the machine-building, aviation, agriculture, and information technologies. President Serzh Sargsyan stressed also the importance of cooperation in humanitarian area.
