Welcoming his Latvian colleague in Armenia, President Sargsyan said, “This is the first official visit in the history of our two countries, however before we have had many opportunities to talk and exchange views. Intensification of the political dialogue testifies to the interest of our two countries to deepen our bilateral relations. And I view your visit to our country in that very context.”

“I am glad to be in Armenia. Latvia has practical interest and our delegation comprises also more than ten businessmen,” President Zatlers noted. He expressed confidence that negotiations with the Armenian side would be productive. “I hope that this will be the first round of our meetings, and the next will take place in Riga.
